The Story
This is a highly-versatile, research-grade microscope with an infinity-corrected Plan optical system and LED Koehler illumination. The infinity-corrected optical system allows for introduction of inline-components without the limits of a finite tube-length. This includes episcopic illuminators, such as a fluorescence kit. The quintuple nosepiece provides quick access to five objective lenses (4X,10X,20X,40X,100X). The Plan achromatic objectives provide excellent correction for both chromatic abberation and field geometry. With the 10X wide-field eyepieces, the magnification ranges from 40X to 1000X. The Siedentopf head-design allows for compensation-free interpupillary-adjustment. Following Koehler illumination principles, the LED light-source provides bright, even illumination with a field-diaphragm for precision control.
The included imaging system is built for just about any microscopy application, including fluorescence and dark-field. Operating both standalone and with PC-connectivity, this C-mount digital camera provides real-time 1080p60 video over HDMI, with built-in 26fps recording to Secure Digital, and PC tethering over USB. The camera's integrated software platform provides full camera-control for exposure, whte-balance, image-orientation, and much more. USB-mouse navigation makes it extremely easy to perform basic functions, as well as new features such as measurements for still-image and video.
The included Windows software offers image-development and measurement tools, as well as advanced compositing features such as image-stitching and extended-depth-of-focus. With the ability to calibrate scales at multiple magnifications, the software can be used for multi-level inspection. For Mac and Linux, there is a lite version of the software which can capture video and still images, and includes limited processing features.
This is an ideal instrument for clinical offices, veterinary and research labs, and anyone who wants an expandable microscopy-system.
